Nota d'usoL'appellativo corretto da utilizzare per rivolgersi educatamente a un uomo che non si conosce è sir, non mister: Excuse me, sir, mi scusi, signore (non Excuse me, mister). Rivolgersi a una persona di cui non si conosce il nome usando la parola mister è considerato maleducato e offensivo. Il sostantivo mister va sempre seguito dal cognome della persona: This is Mr Taylor, questo è il signor Taylor.
